I've composed a basic list that my husband and I live by. We both can skim products in seconds and know whether or not to purchase it. It's great to be in control of what you are consuming and what you choose to buy. If you want to know why a certain ingredient is on my list, just let me know. This list will be updated whenever I find a new synthetic ingredient that should not be consumed.
Bad Ingredients List:
- Phosphoric acid (normally found in carbonated drinks)
- Dextrose (Sweetener)
- Sucrose (Sweetener)
- Aspartame (Sweetener)
- Sorbitol (Sweetener)
- Splenda (Sweetener)
- Artificial Colors
- Artificial Flavors
- Enriched or bleached ingredients
- Sugar
- BHT (Preservative)
- TBHQ (Preservative)
- BHA (Preservative)
- Sodium Benzoate
- Polysorbate 80, Polysorbate 40
- Vanillin (not to be confused with Vanilla)
- High Fructose Corn Syrup
- Corn Syrup
- Nitrates
- MSG
- Soybean Extract (MSG in disguise)
- Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein
- Autolyzed Yeast
- Hydrogenated Oil
